The Junior section of Mote Park Indoor Bowls Club were presented with their new bowls shirts at Mote Park which was attended by Michael Firmin. The purchase of the new shirts and grey trousers for the Juniors was made possible following a successful grant application to Kent Trust for Youth Sport and Kent Sport & Physical Activity Service.
All the young players were excited to receive their new strip as they were involved at the outset in the design of the new shirts and we feel this has given them a sense of pride and greater team spirit, spurring them on in their competitions.
We know that having the correct and modern kit helps to inspire young people to participate in sports and physical activities, creating a team identity and sense of belonging for those involved. So hopefully this will provide the momentum needed to drive the club forward and perhaps assist in tempting more juniors to join the club.
We are indebted to the Kent Trust for Youth Sport for making the grant available for us to purchase the new club shirts and to Kent Sport & Physical Activity Service for the grant towards the cost of the grey bowls trousers. This has set us well and truly on the road to having a complete shared strip available for the juniors to use in their competitions.
We have two junior teams involved in the Invicta League and they are currently in first and second position in their group and this is very promising from such a young group. We also have two juniors who have progressed well in the National Skills Awards programme and we are hoping that they can go still further in the next skill challenge in the new year
Over the last twenty years, £198,554 has been awarded to individuals and organisations across Kent.
