Modern Pentathlon
Achievements to date
I began my sporting career as a competitive swimmer qualifying for English Nations in the 100m breaststroke in 2017. I currently train with Thanet Swimming club swimming six times a week. During my time as a swimmer I was introduced to the Biathlon event. I was a good runner having won the Medway Schools Cross Country event for 3 years in a row. I medalled in my first National Biathlon and was invited to try laser shooting with North Kent Pentathlon club. I enjoyed this and went on to come 2nd in my first National Triathlon. I was then invited on to the GB Modern Pentathlon Talent Pathway.
Currently in the under 17’s category I have to compete as a triathlete. As an Under 19 athlete I will compete in the fencing and horse riding events too which I have started this year.
I qualified this year for the GB team competing in Poland at the European Junior Championships and came 34th in Europe. This was my sporting highlight to date. In the summer I attended a GB Modern Penthathlon training camp in Portugal. I hope to qualify for the GB team again.
To be selected for the GB team for European Youth Juniors – Modern Pentathlon.
Coming 4th at Welsh National Swimming Championships – 2018
Jamie Cooke Modern Pentathlon – World Champion
I have to slap back of my legs 4 times when on the block before every swim. I have to listen to Ceiling “Can’t Hold Us” before any event. I will only wear kit that I have performed well in when I go to competitions.
