I’m a 16-year-old British Junior Elite Triathlete. I started Triathlon when I was 8 because I wanted to copy what my brother was doing (he is ten years older) and to beat him! I am part of British Triathlon’s England Next Generation squad (talent pathway to the Olympic programme) and part of the South East Academy. I am currently training over 17 hours a week whilst balancing schoolwork and preparing for GCSEs. I train with Black Lion Swimming Club, Medway & Maidstone Athletics Club, Thanet Road Club and Ocean Lake Tri Club and I am very grateful for all my coaches and parents.
Triathlon has taken me to some amazing places throughout the UK and Europe and I can’t wait to continue working harder and explore more new places. In the future, I hope to start racing at a Senior Elite level and go to the World Championships.
My most memorable sporting achievement was coming 2nd at my first International at Super League triathlon in Jersey. Wearing the GB suit was awesome and it was great being able to compete against the best in Europe.
Not being selected for the Youth Olympic Games in Argentina, however it has spurred me on to get even better for next year.
